Product launch site for the world's first carbon fiber smartphone — sleek dark design highlighting the thinnest, lightest phone ever made.
The Challenge
Carbon Mobile was launching the world’s first carbon fiber smartphone — a true engineering marvel. The website needed to match the innovation of the product: communicating the material science breakthrough, the ultra-thin form factor, and the premium positioning in a market dominated by Apple and Samsung.
The site had to make you feel the phone before you ever held it.
Our Approach
We treated this as a product storytelling challenge. Every scroll, every animation, every piece of copy was designed to build desire for an entirely new category of smartphone.
- Immersive Hero — Designed a full-screen dark hero with 3D product renders that respond to mouse movement, creating an immediate premium impression
- Scroll Narrative — Built a scroll-driven story that reveals product features through cinematic transitions — thickness comparison, material close-ups, and spec animations
- Material Science Section — Created interactive visualizations showing carbon fiber weave patterns, strength-to-weight ratios, and manufacturing process
- Performance Optimization — Achieved 95+ Lighthouse scores despite heavy 3D assets through progressive loading, WebP conversion, and render optimization
The Result
The Carbon 1 MK II launch page generated massive press coverage, with features in Wired, The Verge, and TechCrunch. The site converted at 3.2% — well above the consumer electronics average. Pre-orders exceeded Carbon Mobile’s initial production run within 48 hours of launch.
